Quasi one-dimensional materials
Perylene derivatives, such as MePTCDI and PTCDA , and metal-phthalocyanines, e.g. MgPc , are very promising candidates for the application in optoelectronic devices. Besides their semiconductivity they show a quasi-one-dimensional crystal structure (see Table 1), so all electronic properties are expected to be very anisotropic.
