Large Area Electronics has shown a rapid increase in performance in the last decades and first products such as eReaders or printed RFID tags are already in development. However, due to the low mobility of the organic materials many applications are currently not in reach for organic semiconductors.

The new Devices Group at IAPP is a group of physicists, chemists, and engineers, who improve the performance of organic electronic devices and circuits by developing new structures and integration concepts. A key technology for the realization of the novel devices is doping of organic semiconductors, which has already lead to fundamental improvements in the fields of highly efficient organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic solar cells.
